In 2024 and 2025, HelpAge Canada connected with community-based seniors’ services (CBSS) organizations across the country to better understand their experiences, challenges, and priorities. Through a series of provincial and territorial consultations, we heard directly from organizations about the realities of their day-to-day work, the barriers they face, and the opportunities they see to strengthen their capacity to support older people and help them age in place.
These conversations provided valuable insight into what CBSS organizations need to thrive and what can be done to better support the vital role they play in communities across Canada.
