All of HelpAge Canada’s national programs focus on improving the quality of life of older people who have social and economic barriers that often limit their active contribution to society. Frontline community-based services are critical to the well-being of older adults because they deliver vital programming that meet their needs close to home.

Promoting humanitarian responses tailored to the unique needs of older people worldwide

HelpAge Canada has developed programs with local partners throughout the world for over 45 years. From food and shelter to basic medical attention, we support older people where the need is the greatest.

Only 20% of older people in developing countries receive a retirement pension and millions of others have no reliable income at all.

Türkiye and Syria Earthquake

In the early hours of February 6th, 2023, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake hit Türkiye and northern Syria, destroying hundreds of buildings, and killing more than 57,000 people. Donate today to ensure older people in Türkiye and Syria receive the care they need.
