HelpAge Canada’s 50th Anniversary
February 4, 2026: Day on Parliament Hil
HelpAge Canada and the Elder Justice Coalition co-hosted Ageing on the Hill in Ottawa, on February 4, 2026, bringing national leaders, legal advocates, older adults, and community-based organizations to Parliament Hill to advance age-friendly policy and highlight urgent gaps in coercive control legislation.
Ageing on the Hill convened federal decision-makers for a full day of meetings with experts in ageing policy and elder justice, representatives from Community-Based Seniors Serving (CBSS) organizations and older adults.
Marking HelpAge Canada’s 50th anniversary, the day culminated in an evening reception where guests had the opportunity to celebrate our 50 years of Canadian and International impact, and gain hands-on perspectives with the University of Toronto’s Age Simulator Suit, an experiential tool that illustrates the realities of physical ageing and promotes empathy-driven policy design.
