Inflation in the countries where we work and the eroding purchasing power of sponsorship dollars make it hard to deliver a consistent level of assistance to grandparents around the world. An increase of a few dollars in your monthly contribution will help us keep benefits strong for all our seniors in the sponsorship program, including your sponsored grandparent, regardless of variations in local economies. With your support, sponsored Grandparents in HelpAge Canada programs can meet their daily needs and live secure healthy lives with dignity.
Birthday: April 15, 1931
Eulalee is an 88 year old woman who is married and has two sons. In her younger days she worked hard to provide for her family by working as domestic help in other people’s homes. With increasing age and declining health, she was unable to continue. She has no pension plan, and her children, being poor themselves, are unable to support their parents. Eulalee is so thankful that she can depend upon the Salvation Army for assistance. Eulalee lives in her own home and looks forward to the visits she receives from her family, priest, and other members of her church community. A sociable woman, she also enjoys going out to attend church functions and participate in the Senior Citizens’ Club. With high blood pressure, arthritis, poor circulation, and mobility issues, Eulalee is currently in rather poor health. She is grateful for the medications that keep her conditions in check.
Sponsorship for Eulalee will assist in the provision of food, clothing, medical attention, and many other items of basic need. Just as importantly, it will show her that someone cares.
