In the Ituri and North Kivu areas of the Democratic Republic of Congo, we support women who have dedicated themselves to helping their communities. They provide support to victims of sexual violence. They promote justice, helping bring rapists to justice. They promote measures aimed at bringing about peace. Some of these advocates have now become too old to continue this grueling – and dangerous – work. They find themselves ignored and isolated. We provide retired advocates in the Democratic Republic of the Congo with a monthly pension.
